Become an ROHCG Volunteer

Steps to Becoming an ROHCG Volunteer

  1. Check www.volunteerottawa.ca under Volunteer Opportunities, Member Agencies, Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre to see what the current vacancies are. If there is a match with your interests and your time availability, contact the Volunteer Services office via the phone number or email address listed in the job posting to schedule a personal interview with the Director of Volunteer Services at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
  2. Just prior to the interview you will be asked to fill in an application form; please bring a copy of your resume to attach to this application.
  3. At the interview, you will be asked to tell us about yourself, including your interests, skills, and reasons for wanting to volunteer.
  4. The Director will offer you a volunteer position if a suitable opening matches your skills, abilities, interests and availability. If a suitable match is not currently available, other options may be discussed.
  5. Once all the paperwork is completed, you will be provided with a Position Description, a Volunteer Manual, and an ID badge as well as specific training prior to beginning your volunteer work.
