Youth Psychiatry

The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre offers intensive and specialized mental health services to youth (primarily age 16-18) with early onset major psychiatric disorders and/or complex psychiatric illnesses that are resistant to treatment.

Youth in the program receive expert care through an interdisciplinary team approach that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, child and youth counselors, an occupational therapist, a recreation therapist, an addiction counselor, as well as special education teachers.

The program offers a full range of mental health services to meet the unique needs of youth in our community through inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, outpatient services, day treatment and rehabilitation services, as well as a regional outreach service.
