Education, Training & Events

Education and professional development training programs and services at the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG) enable learning, enhance teaching, and support healing.

The vision of the ROHCG is to become a centre of excellence in education and a learning organization that consistently focuses on improvement and innovation. We will achieve this vision by building a culture and infrastructure for continuous learning.

What does this mean for you?

  • A client receiving services can feel confident that their care provider possesses the most up-to-date evidence-based knowledge on the illness and treatment, and uses a vast network of knowledge to maintain a standard of excellence, as well as works with researchers in the search for new and innovative treatments;
  • Families and friends who share the burden of a mental illness receive the best knowledge and support possible to cope with the multitude of problems that surround the symptoms of all mental disorders; and
  • Our partners in care in an integrated mental health system can collaborate in sharing resources and building creative new ways to serve our clients.

What can you do?

  • Search our Conferences & Workshops Schedule for events;
  • Learn about the role of our education partners, including the University of Ottawa Department of Psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine;
  • View our archive of multimedia programs featuring audio and video files of events and programs from the ROHCG;
  • Access our Resource Centres, the Rhodes Chalke Library for Clinicians, and the Patient and Family Resource Centres in Ottawa and Brockville;
  • Build your Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits through our CME program; and
  • Use our facilities for events and meetings, available under various terms and conditions to public and private partners.
